About

Currently an aspiring sports journalist studying with the University of South Wales on their course of the same regard.

Career Aspirations

My current career aspirations line up with heading into a PR role within a club to begin with, and for me it is all about placing my foot inside the door within the industry, and therefore am open to other areas within sports journalism.

After graduation from University, I will have gained a role of some form within a sporting body, club or organisation within the first two or three years, and to be paid as a full time employee within this role.

This could be either as a content writer for a website or as some form of lead presenter during a game, similar to what is currently seen on Swans TV, as I have been told I have a niche for presenting and have a strong USP in this area.

In order for this to be the case, I will need to develop in some key specific areas.

For a content written role, my writing proficiency can always be developed further as I will need to have a strong eye for the right line when working in this kind of job. I will need to be adaptable and able to juggle multiple jobs on the go, making sure the conditions are right for the press but also that I am able to focus on producing content for the club/organisation website at the same time.

In terms of presenting, I will need to have the ability to handle new information quickly and be able to process a busy environment in order to focus on what is most important at that time. Following directions from your team amidst a high energy environment is key when trying your hand at something like this, but preparation solves a lot of any potential issues.
